The Journey So Far
Documenting my journey through immersive media, creative technology, and the future of storytelling
Greetings, fellow travelers!
Over the past year (and some change), I’ve charted new territories in my creative technologist journey, leaning fully into a life of immersive storytelling, futuristic technologies, and boundless curiosity. From earning my first screens producer credit to creating AR art that transforms storytelling experiences, every step has been part of my exploration into the creative frontier.
Let’s go back to September 2023—that’s when I earned my first Screens Producer and Screens Designer credit for the BMAC Awards Show. Seeing my designs on stage at such a prominent event was both humbling and energizing, marking a milestone that affirmed the direction of my work. In February 2024, I joined Rhythm + Flow Season 2 as a Screens Designer, creating motion graphics for LED stages that brought dynamic energy to the show. By November, I was back as a Screens Producer for the HBCU Honors, further refining my approach to screen content design.
Amid these professional milestones, I also created CineTech, an emerging technology sidebar at the Maryland Film Festival. Spanning three floors, CineTech showcased VR, AR, immersive media, and other technologies that challenged the way we tell and experience stories. It became one of the highlights of the festival, sparking curiosity and conversation among attendees. I’m proud to carry that momentum forward as I continue to evolve CineTech for the next installment in November 2025.
Another ongoing project that holds a special place for me is Zora’s Room, a storytelling series that uses technology to amplify narratives and deepen audience engagement. Over its first three installments, I’ve contributed AR artwork and designed a pop-up immersive experience, blending creative technology with storytelling to create meaningful and impactful spaces. With a new chapter coming in February, I’m excited to continue exploring how emerging technologies can expand the possibilities of this series.
AR Artwork from Zora’s Room: "Zora's Bookshelf," the very first immersive experience I made for Zora’s Room. I created 3D models of all of her first-edition books and placed them on a 6-ft tall shelf for people to explore via Augmented Reality.
As I reflect on this journey, I’m reminded of the Star Trek concept of “infinite diversity in infinite combinations.” This Vulcan philosophy celebrates the beauty of variety, creativity, and endless possibility—a fitting metaphor for the path I’m on. My work thrives at the intersection of different disciplines, technologies, and ideas, blending them into something new and inspiring.
This Substack has also transformed. What started as Digital Creative Futures is now Captain's Log: Exploring Creative Futures. The new name reflects my evolving journey and passion for exploring uncharted creative territories—documenting my experiments, sharing discoveries, and charting my course through immersive media, creative technology, and the future of storytelling.
Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of diving deeper into creative technologies, trying new things, and expanding my understanding of what’s possible. This log is my way of documenting those adventures and exploring where they might lead next. I have so much to share so look out for another subspace transmission soon.
Until next time, keep imagining, creating, and boldly exploring.

Live Long and Prosper~
